Biography

Thank you for visiting my webpage. I am a research scientist and Director of Industry Programs at Stanford University's Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI), co-directed by Fei-Fei Li and James Landay, where I lead research collaborations and executive education initiatives that translate cutting-edge AI, ML, and foundation models' research into applied real-world solutions. My own research interests span uncertainty quantification (UQ) for scientific machine learning (SciML) and broader areas of AI/ML trust, safety, privacy, and responsible development.

Prior to joining Stanford, I was a research scientist at the Center for Computing Research at Sandia National Laboratories, where I worked with the Dakota team and served as principal investigator on projects involving UQ/ML for high-dimensional surrogate modeling, computer vision, and time-series analysis. Before Sandia, I held positions as R&D Manager of Data Science at Northrop Grumman Corporation, research fellow at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UC Davis and the Computational Visualization Center at the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences at UT Austin, and R&D engineer at Cisco Systems. I hold a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a minor in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Davis, and M.S. and B.S. degrees in Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering from Cairo University, Egypt. I am a senior member of IEEE and a member of ACM and SIAM.
